STYLE GURU BIO: Danette Trimboli

Why hello there! My name is Danette Trimboli, but you can just call me Danette. I am a Telecommunications major (specializing in news) at the University of Florida, and I’ll be going into my senior year this fall. This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I am super excited!

I’m not a design major, nor am I really doing anything related to fashion in school other than this, but I have a strong passion for all things style and clothes. In fact, someday I’d like to be an entertainment reporter. More specifically, I’d like to be a correspondent or anchor for E! News. Fashion plays such an incredible role in entertainment news industry from red carpet moments to other star-filled events. Also, we can’t forget the timeless question “Who are you wearing?” coined by the lovely late comedienne Joan Rivers. This question alone merged entertainment and fashion industries in a way like no other. What better way to prepare myself for those hard-hitting questions than as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista? You guessed it: there is no better way.

Currently I volunteer as a reporter for the radio station associated with the UF and as a cameraman for our 5:00 p.m. newscasts. When I’m not busy doing that, I’m usually obsessing over Marvel movies with my friends or obsessing over Orlando Bloom and Chris Evans; it’s usually whichever comes first.

I love shoes to the point that it’s kind of an unhealthy obsession. I also really enjoy cats, reading, tea, sleeping, taking pictures, Instagram and Netflix. I’m also hoping to start up a lifestyle blog soon.

Recently, I’ve found myself leaning more towards simplistic, monochromatic colored clothes like a like denim shirt with jeans or printed shorts and a simple flowy top. Since my taste in clothes have simplified, I’ve found myself experimenting with all sorts of cool and wacky things with my makeup. Nothing too wild, but it’s been fun.

Overall, my style is still evolving and I’m excited to see develop it into something more.
