STYLE GURU BIO: Dana Pernini

Hey everyone! It feels like just yesterday I was writing my last Style Guru Bio and here I am again writing to you at the start of my third semester!

For those of you not aware, I am a fashion design student at Drexel University. Yet, I have some good news and bad news. While you are currently reading this during your time off from school, I am currently still in my spring quarter as I write this! The good news is although Drexel is on a quarter schedule, as soon as the spring quarter ends, the summer quarter will start! You might be wondering what is so exciting about taking classes in the summer. Well, in mid-February I was notified that I had been accepted to study abroad at the London College of Fashion this summer. I will be a part of an eight week long fashion design program that includes a week trip to Paris.

Following my studies, I’ll be meeting up with my family to embark on a three week adventure throughout Italy. I am super excited, because I have never visited Europe and I can’t wait to delve into the various cultures, foods, sights and most importantly, fashion, that I come across. Be on the lookout for my articles and follow my adventures on social media as I travel through England, Paris, Italy and hopefully other beautiful countries, if I am fortunate enough to do some additional traveling in my spare time.

Until then, I am in Philadelphia finishing up the term and letting out my excitement for my impending journey through fashion. Here, I’ve put together an outfit that gives me French feels and a flower child vibe. On top is a black and white stripe crop top and I paired it with a floor length, white and sheer pleated skirt, which is perfect for day or night. I’m wearing my favorite new sandals with nude, suede fringe. I totally feel free wearing this flowy skirt that billows in the wind and fun sandals that have some movement as I walk.

Also, I bring on the flower child vibes in my accessories. You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the girl, or in other words, I’ve achieved incredible Jersey volume with my poofy bun. I’ve added two white floral clips to take this messy look and add some simple elegance. Then, I wear one of my most unique necklaces that’s a wrap around style with cascading floral jewels.

I don’t know how I’ll survive without my acrylic nails or without developing a nice tan in rainy, overcast London, but I can’t wait to encounter the street style of Europe, shop around and bring home new looks to share with all of you!
