STYLE GURU BIO: Culleen Moser

Hello my Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Culleen Moser and I am very excited to start off my term as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista.

I am an incoming Junior at the University of Akron, studying fashion merchandising and minoring in marketing and sales technology.  I was born and raised in the city of Cleveland and find nothing brings me more happiness than spending a day in the city.  I grew up with my nose in a book and have often viewed the world from a different perspective.  Half of my advice that I give people are either song lyrics or direct quotes from books that I have read and usually take personal offense if people don’t like the same television shows as me.  I am the youngest of four children and thrive on being my older siblings stylist.  I am constantly moving around and love being busy.  I refuse to talk to anyone without first having a cup of coffee and I hate breakfast.  When it comes to my obsessions I say Gigi Hadid and choker necklaces are at a tie for first.

Whenever anyone asks why I want to pursue a career in fashion, I cannot help but quote one of my favorite characters Blair Waldorf, “Fashion is the most powerful art there is.  It’s movement, design and architecture all in one.  It shows the world who we are and who we’d like to be.”  I have always been drawn to clothing and find so much joy in helping someone who is having a fashion dilemma.

My go-to pieces are a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans that have probably seen better days and one of my many loose V-neck T-shirts.  I typically buy tops that are a size too big and will base my purchases off of the way that fabrics feel.  I never leave the house without some sort of necklace on or will be reaching to my bare neck all day!  I am constantly being inspired by the world around me and use that in styling different outfits.

There are so many truly brilliant minds that have left their mark on the world of fashion and I hope to do the same this semester as a #RAD CollegeFashionista.
