STYLE GURU BIO: Crystal Zhang

Hey guys, welcome to my first ever article! I’m so excited to finally be a part of this family, and can’t wait to share all my tips from now moving forward but first, let me introduce myself. Currently, I’m a junior at Fordham University where I studying marketing and finance at the Gabelli School of Business. It’s been a while since I’ve been on campus because I recently came from studying abroad in London! Fortunately, Gabelli has a program there so I was able to indulge in some European flare for four months, which makes me that much more excited to be a Style Guru this semester. I’ve been able to incorporate my personal style and find a new style that consists of my traditional flair, but with some newly introduced Euro-chic that I cannot wait to share with you all!

Growing up in New York City, I would consider my style to be quite loud and expressive like the city itself. It’s quite easy to pin point how I’m feeling by the way I dress. NYC just had its first real snowfall. This mid-January weekend has been in the low 20s and experiencing quite some snow. With this weather, obviously you’ve gotta dress warm, but more importantly, you’ve gotta look cute doing it! Winter is awesome because you get to layer up. Hence, why it looks like I have two jackets on. Under, I have on a chiffon shirt with a light down jacket over. On top, I’m wearing one of my most favorite jackets. I love items that can accentuate your figure, especially when bundling, which is why this jacket is a must! This puffy down coat comes with a black belt that hugs you right at your waist, creating a slimming figure.

Like my style, I don’t like to follow the rules, hence my white pants after Labor Day. Whoever made that rule mustn’t be too happy with me, as I wear then year round as I like. I think white pants are so flattering and clean looking, completing and pairing with almost anything in your closet. For example, look at how great they look tucked into my chestnut boots. As you guys will also figure out through this semester, I love chokers (I’ve been rocking them since I was seven). With this outfit, I decided to stay with the color scheme and wear a nude taupe self tie choker.

To finish off this look, I chose to take my Celine Phantom bag, a fan favorite. Although the price is intimidating, I believe every girl needs a great bag to invest in. This is mine. The neutral color allows me to wear it with almost every outfit, in every season. Plus if you don’t want to drop the money, many designers have created dupes for this popular shaped bag.

That’s all for now, but I can’t wait to share more ideas and styles in my next article! See you guys there. ‘Til next time, Fashionistas/os.
