Hey all you Fashionistas/os out there! My name is Charlene Zhang, and I am a soon-to-be third year McGill student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Management. I am honored and beyond excited to be back for a second semester of my internship with CollegeFashionista.

Now that the lethal winter has come and gone in Montreal, I cannot wait to showcase some amazing styles that my fellow McGillians sport in the beautiful summer weather. I’ll be honest, dressing to impress was just not a priority when merely walking to class required bundling up in all your sweaters, jackets, coats, scarves and hats. Each week without fail, however, I found amazing outfits put together by students who either fought the cold or embraced the thick layers. Now that cute shorts and skirts are in, I have even higher hopes for what our Fashionistas/os on campus have to offer.

My personal style has definitely evolved over the years. As of late, I have been loving casual and comfortable outfits, with sometimes a touch of grunge and at other times a touch of femininity (and once in awhile, both). In this look, I incorporated some of my essential summer pieces: a soft, neutral flannel, a wide-brimmed wool fedora, a pair of distressed, light-wash boyfriend jeans and some pointed, strappy flats. I draw a lot of my inspiration from bloggers with amazing style and follow a few of my favorite Instagram and YouTube accounts religiously.

I am very passionate about what I’m studying, but I also love outlets that allow me to channel my creativity. Other than fashion, I love photography and creative writing. I will continue to be posting every Tuesday over the summer, so make sure to follow my social media for updates and check back on my page weekly. I’d love to hear your feedback!
