Hello from one Fashionista to another, my name is Cassie and this is my first time being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. Like a lot of Style Gurus, fashion is my favorite “F” word. As a part of my love affair with fashion, I currently attend college majoring in Fashion Merchandising, and I will be transferring schools from Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA to the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC in the fall.
Simply put, I’m obsessed with anything fashion related. I currently work in a privately owned bridal shop in my hometown, which I love because we buy directly from bridal designers. It gives me an up-close view of all the new designs and trends. When I’m not working, I’m breezing through the magazine aisles of Barnes & Noble picking up the latest issues of Vogue or stalking my favorite designers accounts on Instagram.
I consider my style always changing with my mood––some days I’m rocking a dress with heels, completing the looks with pearls and my favorite Rebecca Minkoff handbag, while others I’m strutting my favorite pair of DL1961 ripped skinny jeans, a black Guns N’ Roses T-shirt and my old Converse. Recently, I’ve been following numerous beauty and fashion Gurus on YouTube, and have been looking at them as sources of inspiration.
I also have an intense love for taking pictures…which the 8,096 photos on my iPhone can attest to. In addition to capturing pictures of my friends and family, I have found I more specifically love fashion photography, as it consumes an entire wall of my tiny apartment at home. So I decided to merge my love for fashion and photography and write for CollegeFashionista this summer.
