STYLE GURU BIO: Caroline Verdic

I’m back, Fashionistas! My name is Caroline Verdic, and I am from New Jersey. I am currently a sophomore at Marist College, studying business marketing and fashion merchandising. I think it is amazing that so many people have their own unique style that fits their personality. I believe fashion is a way to express yourself through clothing and accessories. I always like to say, “Take a fashion risk, it will give people a reason to talk about you!” I live close to New York City and believe I get most of my inspiration from walking and observing the people in the city. I like to take a trend and put my own twist on it. My style changes on a daily basis. I can go from classic to boho, to trendy, to athleisure in one week! My inspiration also comes from magazines and social media. Instagram is a great source for spotting trends. I love following celebrities and trying to recreate their looks at more affordable prices.

The holidays have sadly come and gone, but it is never too late to wear a turtleneck! Today’s outfit is great for a family gathering or a night out in the city! I’m rocking a gray, choker V-neck sweater with a black skater skirt that was super cheap from Forever 21. I grabbed my black wool jacket to help keep me warm and my new Bojana Embroidered Rebecca Minkoff booties that I got for Christmas! To tie the entire outfit together, I grabbed my Kate Spade leather clutch and rose gold watch as accent pieces. This outfit combination has a few very simple pieces but also has some statement pieces to make you stand out and pop in a crowd.

These last three semesters with CollegeFashionista have been such a whirlwind! I have learned so much, from taking fashion classes at Marist to getting inspiration from my classmates to enhancing my writing skills thanks to CollegeFashionista. I love to get inspiration by reading other articles every day by my fellow Style Gurus. I am extremely happy and excited to continue my journey with the CollegeFashionista family, and I can’t wait to share my articles with you!

Don’t forget to stay RAD and be FAB!
