STYLE GURU BIO: Caroline Dilone

Hi there, Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Caroline Dilone and I attend Eugene Lang College The New School For Liberal Arts. This is my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I am so excited to see some awesome trends this summer!

Throughout my life, I’ve always gone through different stages of fashion styles. When I was younger, my mother would always tell me to wear dresses and more girly things but I was obsessed with the tomboy look. All I wanted to wear were oversized T-shirts or sweaters and jeans. Then, when I got to high school I was all about bohemian-chic. My sister and I would make headbands and I loved wearing them with ripped jeans or maxi skirts. After that stage, I was very into band T-shirts and leather jackets. Now, I am in love with minimalism. I love dressing in a simple attire and being able to rock the “less is more” look.

All these different stages I go through are still a part of me. Sometimes, it feels as if they have never left. In Gossip Girl, (If you aren’t familiar with the show please watch it immediately, it’s crucial), Blair Waldorf once stated “Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It’s movement, design and architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we’d like to be.” Through fashion, I am learning more about myself every day. I am learning more of what I like and what I don’t and how to incorporate different things into my style.

Once again, I am so excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista team again and I cannot wait to be inspired by all of you, Fashionistas and Fashionistos out here in New York City! Be sure to check my posts every Thursday to see the best trends of the summer.
