STYLE GURU BIO: Carly Hall

For those of you who have been dedicated readers of my posts, the past few months I am excited to announce I am back in the USA from being abroad in Italy last semester. I will be returning as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this spring semester. And for those who are discovering my posts for the first time, my name is Carly Hall and I would like to say thank you for taking the time to read. I am a senior in apparel design and merchandising at Appalachian State in Boone, North Carolina where I will be finishing up my final semester before graduating in May.

Although I was a native born and raised Wisconsinite, I have been blessed with the opportunity to live in a variety of places in the United States and abroad. Because of my experiences, I have been immersed in a diverse collection of fashion styles and trends. I would say my own personal style doesn’t really fit into any specific category, but I have fallen in love with an array of different looks from all over and I have adopted them into my wardrobe. Living in Italy this past semester has led me to develop a more sophisticated, simplistic approach to my outfits.

For this look, I went with layered pieces in order to create a laid back feel. One thing that is consistent in my style is comfort, so this outfit is a perfect example. This woven vest is one of my favorite thrift store finds. I love thrift shopping because you always find unique and one of a kind pieces for a great price. The scarf is from one of the markets in Florence, Italy where I bartered the seller down to an awesome deal of only seven euros. As you can see, I love fashion that is affordable. I also have an obsession with booties and absolutely love the chestnut brown color of these.

I look forward to sharing more fashion with you this coming semester and I hope you continue to enjoy reading what I have to offer.
