STYLE GURU BIO: Carlie Wagner

Hi fellow Fashionistas, and Fashionistos too! My name is Carlie Wagner, and I’m a sophomore at Fordham University in New York where I’m studying Communications and Media Studies, with a minor in Marketing. Although I was born in New York City, I moved to Arizona right after I was born, so I’m an Arizona girl learning to navigate her way through the streets of New York. I figured out I must be a Fashionista when my high school friends kept asking to borrow clothes, and this “fashion trend” has continued at Fordham, so I’m super excited to be a Style Guru intern this semester!

As much as I love fashion, there’s a big part of my life that doesn’t allow me to bring out my fashion sense. That’s because I’m also a Division 1 soccer player at Fordham, which requires me to sport a not-so-fashionable maroon sweatsuit to and from practice, and sometimes classes. When I’m not doing that though, I try my best to blend in with the rest of the Fashionistas at Fordham. Living in the fashion capital of the world definitely has its advantages; I can get some great outfit inspirations just by walking around campus, and during the occasional trip into the Big Apple. If I could have all of the clothes in one person’s closet it would be Ashley Madekwe’s, who plays Ashley Davenport on the show Revenge. It’s too bad most of her dresses are Prada though ($$$). I also get a lot of my inspirations from my favorite fashion blogger, Jules Sariñana of Sincerely, Jules.

Accessories and shoes are definitely my forte. Every good outfit can turn into an amazing one with the right shoes and accessories, so I’m always on the lookout for long, simple necklaces that I can match with almost anything. I also recently fell in love with the fur trend, and like most college students I’m “ballin’ on a budget,” so when I found this totally fab faux fur vest I jumped right on it. Fringe is fun, it adds a pop of playfulness to any item and this black fringe bag goes perfectly with almost every outfit. Oh, and as for the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots, they were an early Christmas gift, and definitely not in this sophomore’s budget! I’ve been living in New York City for almost a year and a half now, and keeping up with the latest fashion trends is a lot fun and something I’m really passionate about.

I hope you guys enjoy my #RAD articles! For more info on my outfits, don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest and Instagram!
