STYLE GURU BIO: Carlie Madlinger

Hello beautiful Fashionistas/os! Welcome to my page! My name is Carlie Madlinger and I am so excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am currently a sophomore at Montclair State University, yet I’m a city girl at heart. A dream of mine is to have a career in the fashion and entertainment industry while living in Manhattan. Why do you want to live in Manhattan, you may ask? Well, this borough has given me the confidence to be myself and express my love for fashion, no wonder because it is the fashion capital of America. The diverse, creative and electric environment that Manhattan exudes has inspired my own wardrobe choices and personality immensely. Whether it be wearing my biggest floppy hat, highest heels or a shimmery piece of jewelry, I love to make a statement.

Along with embarking on spontaneous adventures throughout New York City, I enjoy walking in fashion shows, acting, watching Leonardo DiCaprio movies, exercising and of course shopping! My closet consists of a ton of Free People, vintage finds and heels, heels and more heels! Although the risk of falling increases each time I slip on a pair, I love gaining that extra height and how they can pull together any outfit. As Coco Chanel once said, “Keep your heels, head and standards high.”

I love putting together looks, however, I don’t like to put a label on my style because it’s always evolving. One day I may dress bohemian and the next day you’ll see me with a black T, ripped jeans and a chunky necklace. Vintage, unique and fun, my outfit above is just that. This light blue suede, fringe bomber jacket is legitimately the love of my life. The moment I saw it, I knew it belonged in my closet. I decided to wear it with my vintage, champagne-gold silk trousers and brown suede heels because I feel these colors complement one another incredibly. Bodysuits are back and in my opinion, a must have in everyones wardrobe. Snug, cute and versatile, I added this simple, white bodysuit to my ensemble. You can never go wrong with accessories, so I clipped on a jeweled choker and a bronze rhinestone hand bracelet to add a little sparkle to this look. To cohesively finish off, I threw my vintage giraffe print purse around my shoulder. Style to me is all about wearing what you adore and not caring what others will think. You only live once, so make your life stylish!

Ever since I was a little girl I was called a “Fashionista”, so thank you CollegeFashionista for allowing me to be a part of this awesome fashionable family! Be sure to follow me on Instagram, twitter and to check out my CF articles every month to keep in touch with my style! Let’s have a #RAD, stylish semester Fashionistas/os!
