STYLE GURU BIO: Brittany Maniet

Hello, CollegeFashionista! My name is Brittany Maniet, this fall I will be a sophomore at Point Park University majoring in Journalism.

Every since I was little I’ve been obsessed with fashion. I always found styling outfits to be more fun than anything. I really found myself taking to fashion though in my late middle school years. I even thought about a career as a fashion designer. I had sketch book after sketch book filled with outfits that I had created. My parents bought me all kinds of books helping me in anyway to follow my dream. However, writing changed that path.

My love of writing started in high school while I was working on our school paper. I wrote for each of the sections. As well I became an editor for the Arts and Entertainment section. I became hooked and enjoyed all the topics I wrote about but most of all I enjoyed any way we could write about something fashion or style related.

I bounced around from style to style but always found my self going back to a preppier side. The classic look filled with bright colors drew me in. However recently I’ve taken a liking to the boho look also. My style though has always stood out from that of my friends. We all have our own unique sense of fashion. I have friends who to wear all kinds of color, some who where only and all black, and then some who wear a multitude of things.

YouTube has also played an influence in my style recently. I have taken a liking to many beauty gurus because of how they use their social media to spread their own sense of style. Which through CollegeFashionista I would like to do the same. This is my way of putting myself out there and getting out of my comfort zone.

I hope that at my time here at CollegeFashionista I can show you some different styles and lead you some advice by giving you a glimpse into my life and sense of fashion. I am eager to improve my photography skills as well as show you what I think fashion is all about. I look forward to this journey and I hope you all come back to read some more!
