Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Briannah and I am about to dive into my second year as a fashion business student at Seneca College. As a first time Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, I am beyond excited to bring you guys along for the ride. I can already tell this semester is going to be a good one and I’m ready to show you some of the amazing fashion and college style that Toronto has to offer. Trust me, although they are the pride of the city, we do have more to offer than Drake, The Weeknd and PartyNextDoor.
Now, my love for fashion stretches back to the very early years of my childhood. For as long as I can remember I have had my mind set on a career in the fashion industry. When all of the other kids were playing outside or doing whatever it is that kids do, I was watching Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model and The Devil Wears Prada, all the while imagining how amazing it would be to be an intern for a huge fashion publication. So, believe me when I tell you, being a part of this community is a big deal.
If I had to describe my personal style, I would say that I definitely gravitate towards casual streetwear and sporty looks, but I find that my style continuously evolves in a way that makes it hard to give it a definite label. That being said, every now and then I like to channel my inner Rihanna, mix things up and take some style risks. Fashion is such an expressive art form, it allows you to draw inspiration from anywhere and everywhere. As someone that loves music and art, those are two places from which I draw a ton of ideas, especially with music and the emphasis that so many artists today put on fashion and a personal sense of style.
