STYLE GURU BIO: Briana Iacia

Hi, everyone! I’m Briana, and I’m currently a senior at Pace University on the New York City campus. I’m incredibly sad to say it, but this is my fourth and final Style Guru Bio!

I cannot believe that I’ve had the pleasure of working with CollegeFashionista for two entire years. This internship has become a staple part of my life, and it’s going to be so difficult to let go! I think each of us is in some way looking to find work that feels less like a chore and more like fun, and CollegeFashionista has been that for me. Between the skills, connections, opportunities, and inspiration I’ve gained over these past two years, I’m grateful for all of it. I know that so many other Style Gurus will be able to relate when I say that CollegeFashionista has truly added something unique to my college experience.

I love looking back on my previous Style Guru Bios at the start of each semester. They showcase a very particular point in my life and personal style, each article acting as a little wardrobe time capsule. At this moment in my life, I’ve just gotten back from studying abroad in England where I was inspired by the urban and slightly underground style I noticed in London and Berlin. The influence of this is definitely present in the outfit I chose for this article.

I paired together a cropped black turtleneck top, these DIY red trousers and my trusty denim jacket, which I coincidentally also wore in my very first Style Guru Bio. Clearly, the oversize denim jacket had its moment a few seasons ago, but I found myself reaching for mine because the color and silhouette complement these pants so nicely.

The shining star of this look is, without a doubt, the 2000s-era chain handbag. I can always count on Goodwill to hook me up with the coolest pieces! Finally, I finished my outfit off with chunky white sneakers, silver hoop earrings and a silver necklace to match the hardware on the bag. I could never capture my capricious style in a single outfit, but this one is a good representation of who I am now.

As a second semester senior, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately. It brings me joy to think of my college years being sprinkled with memories of running after Fashionistas/os and convincing my family and friends to help me with a photo shoot. I wish you all well on your journeys through college and the fashion world. Cheers to the New Year and new semester!
