STYLE GURU BIO: Bella Spadafora

If you’re reading this, you’ve stumbled upon the bio of Bella Spadafora. Welcome! I am a sophomore at Penn State University and I am on the path to major in public relations or advertising. I am originally from Hermitage, Pennsylvania, a town basically no one has heard of, but it is a good and loving place to grow up. In this small town, we didn’t have much modern culture. On our main road we have Eat-n-Park, Big Lots, around 4 auto-shops and a mall the size of a hallway. My exposure to the life of fashion was little to none. Growing up with conservative groups of people of all aspects, dressing in a way different from the American Eagle displays was almost a crime. Showing up to high school in suspenders, platform shoes and my dad’s-old-dress-shirts-turned-dresses was quite the shocker for many people, but it takes a lot more than that to discourage me. I developed my love for fashion, art and beauty based on the way I was raised and the way society (for the most part) scoured at my appearance. Fortunately, I have been raised by parents who encouraged my love for quirkiness and self-expression, so their enthusiasm only made my love for expression grow stronger. Fashion was my outlet for expressing who I am. I especially love my Dr. Martens in this week’s photos, because they show off my edgy side. The way I can arrange clothing into making a stronger statement than words is truly something of empowerment. Putting together my tank top and black shorts for my bio photo was a very exciting task! Also, adding that extra touch of festival-style with my belt really completed the ensemble. My interest for style, fashion and beauty stems from the great opportunity to express myself in ways that make me feel amazing. I am so excited to share my outfits on the CollegeFashionista website. I hope to not only give pictures of fashion inspiration, but give fashion risk-takers and lovers the courage to wear those studded suspenders to school or to rock the neon green moon boots you received several Christmases ago. And don’t forget to add a pair of funky sunglasses to top off any look during any season, like mine in the photos above! Aside from my sappy blabbering about self-expression and owning your appearance, I am interested in several other things besides clothes! I am a cat enthusiast. My cat, Meco (meeko) is my prized possession. I am also passionate about Parks and Recreation, One Direction, Dave Duchovny, George Clooney’s voice, soft-served ice cream and the company of good friends. I hope you enjoy my posts!
