STYLE GURU BIO: Atsi Shah

Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Atsi and currently, I am a rising sophomore at Rutgers University studying English. I am so excited to be joining the CollegeFashionista team this summer!

President Barack Obama said at the commencement speech at Rutgers, “Every day, tens of thousands of students come here, to this intellectual melting pot, where ideas and cultures flow together among what might just be America’s most diverse student body.” His words are true academically, socially and culturally. In fact, my college is one of the most diverse places that one can go without ever leaving New Jersey. As a result, Rutgers gives students the ability to express themselves individually through fashion, which is one of the things I admire most about my school. At Rutgers, I see it all from unique street style to chic evening wear.

I like to say that my style would be considered trendy, yet affordable. I enjoy wearing dark colors such as black, navy blue and gray. But, I usually try to even the outfit out by putting in more softer colors, like white. I love statement necklaces and I believe that the accessories make the outfit. With the right pair of shoes or the perfect handbag, the outfit can go from zero to 100, real quick.

For this outfit, I wore a Zara crop top, and an Express blazer atop. I am also wearing  distressed boyfriend jeans from Zara, and then I paired it with heels from ALDO. To complete my look, I carried around my ALDO handbag. I picked this outfit because I find it very versatile. This outfit can be worn for a trip to the city with the girls, just remove the blazer. Also, it is perfect for a casual Friday at the office, or even to go to class, by switching out the heels for a pair of comfortable flats.
