Hi everyone! My name is Ashley. I am a junior studying fashion merchandising and design with a minor in business at Virginia Tech. Growing up I always had a passion for fashion and loved to experiment with new styles. This passion has also lead me to enjoy photography and writing for fashion/beauty blogs. I’ve written for VT’s Fashion Merchandising and Design Society’s (FMDS) blog called VT Vogue and am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my first semester!
I love fashion because you can express who you are without having to say a word. You make the rules for how you want to present yourself to the world. Some people believe that each person has one certain style, but what I love about fashion is that you can dress in any style you want and when you want. Experimenting with different fashion trends and styles has actually given me a lot of self confidence. If you think you look good in your outfit, show it to the world—because confidence is key!
Lately I’ve really been into sporting turtlenecks. For this look, I edged up this soft grey turtleneck with black ripped-knee jeans. I purchased my oversized denim shirt from my local thrift store. Since it’s finally starting to get chilly, for more warmth I added a cute knit beanie. I wanted this outfit to be stylish, but also comfy when walking around in, so I paired this look with my trusty Superstar Adidas. Last but not least, I put on my mirrored sunglasses from Forever 21 to add a cooler aesthetic to my outfit.
