STYLE GURU BIO: Ashley Mascolo

Hey everyone! My name is Ashley Mascolo. I am from Long Beach, New York, and I attend Sacred Heart University where I am a marketing major with a minor in digital advertising and public relations. I am a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, through which I have broadened my style and learned so much about fashion.

Going into college, my style was relatively casual, consisting of mostly jeans and T-shirts. I always admired other people’s stylish outfit choices but never did anything fun with my own wardrobe. After joining Kappa Delta, I was introduced to over 100 amazing girls all with their own fashion sense, each inspiring me to spice up my own style. These girls have not only influenced my style but have also given me multiple closets to shop in for all occasions! This past year alone I was given so many style opportunities; we got to shop at J.Crew after the store had closed, go to local boutiques to shop and attend workshops on how to always look our best!

Coming from a laid back beach community, my transition to college greatly impacted my style. Sacred Heart University is home to a wide variety of styles from preppy to hipster, each having an influence on my personal style. The main factor that goes into deciding what I wear is comfort. I love to look cute but still be comfortable! This jumpsuit is both comfy and cute and is able to be dressed up or dressed down depending on the accessories and shoes. Flowy pants, loose dresses, cute woven shorts and sweaters are my go-to! I am also a strong believer that a statement necklace or vest can dress up almost anything.

I am so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista for the first time and to continue to grow my own style while sharing all my findings with you all! Check out my posts every Thursday to see the styles from the people of my everyday life at the beach as well as the preppy fashionable outfits of my sorority sisters!
