STYLE GURU BIO: Ashley Choi

Hello everyone!

My name is Ashley Choi and I am currently pursuing a major in Public Relations and Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design at DePaul University in Chicago. Living in Chicago is a whirlwind of experiences; from the weather to the fashion, I have seriously fallen in love with the city. I grew up in a suburb of Chicago not too far from the city called Schaumburg. Exciting, I know. Though I am pretty close to home, the city is a whole different vibe and environment that inspires me everyday. Besides being a student, I am also a dancer, a Starbucks barista and a self-proclaimed coffee addict.

Fashion and beauty have always been passions of mine. As a kid, my mom would always find me rummaging through her closet trying on her clothes or jewelry. Most of my childhood memories revolve around discovering my mom’s vanity and putting lipstick all over my mouth. Fashion and makeup have become creative outlets that I fell in love with around my junior year of high school. I became obsessed with filling my online shopping carts with outfits that I thought were cute, which I obviously still do to this day.

I would personally describe my style as being comfort chic. The look of a piece is always important, but I feel that I gravitate towards clothes that feel good as well. My outfits are always put together so that I can wear it out, but also lounge around in it without a fuss. Oversized cardigans and soft camisoles are staples in my closet. As for accessories, small minimalistic jewelry and hats are always a must.

I am terrible at writing bios, but here we go. Hi, I'm Ashley Choi. 20//ENFJ//Chicago based. I am a make-up enthusiast, dancer, and self-proclaimed coffee addict. I would like to describe myself as a dabbler. I dabble in all sorts of hobbies and activities; some of them include the ability to avoid all things academic by binge watching a bunch of beauty videos, dancing, cooking, or doodling. That being said, I am currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Public Relations and Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design at DePaul University. I am seriously enjoying my time in college but I am absolutely enthralled to be writing for CollegeFashionista this summer!
