Hello fellow fashion lovers! My name is Ashley Alpino and I just completed my first year at Kent State University! Along with completing my first year at college, I also just finished up my first semester with CollegeFashionista! I’m so excited to continue writing for this site during the beautiful summer months, and see how fashion evolves through the season.

My personal style constantly changes from each day to the next, however, I love simple silhouettes with occasional metallic accents, and I love experimenting with new looks and trends. One of the best aspects about fashion is that it is constantly changing, allowing for creativity and self-expression! The summer is my favorite season for fashion because you can easily throw on a cute sundress and be ready to take on the day. I also love summer because there is so much to do! Some activities I enjoy in my hometown of Pittsburgh, are going to concerts (first and foremost), visiting art festivals, going to drive-in movies or even taking a trip to local art museums. One of the best aspects about all of these fun events is, of course, deciding what you’re going to wear.

To start the summer off, I have been loving the lace-up trend, whether it be on shirts, dresses or even shoes. I think this detail is unique and different from what has been seen in the past, and it’s always exciting to see something new. Yet another staple to a summer wardrobe includes the perfect pair of sunglasses. I found an amazing pair that incorporate flat lenses, which I fell in love with. The Clubmaster frames are ones that will never be out of style, so be sure to give them a try!

Other than fashion, some other hobbies I love include drawing, taking photos and spending time with my friends and family. Inspiration can be found pretty much anywhere, so I’m always up for finding the newest and latest trends, wherever they may be.

I can’t wait to show off the Fashionistas/os in the wonderful city of Pittsburgh this summer, and I hope you’ll follow along and gain inspiration from my posts!
