STYLE GURU BIO: Arielle Green

My name is Arielle Maurissa Green. I just ended my junior year at Southern Illinois University. Starting fall 2015 I will officially be a senior! My major is Fashion Design and Merchandising with a specialization in Merchandising and minor in Marketing. I have pretty much devoted myself to fashion all of my life. At the young age of nine I was taught by my grandmother how to sew. In the past I wanted to be a fashion designer, model and stylist. My dream of becoming a model died after I stopped growing at four feet eleven inches however my love of fashion never died. My love for business soon came after I started college. College showed me that fashion is more than pretty clothes and faces. It takes a business mindset and a true love for the industry to succeed. I aspire to be a fashion buyer as well as a personal stylist.

If you asked me to describe my style, I would not be able to answer. Like anyone, my style has changed over time but as I get older I find myself trying to look more sophisticated due to the fact that I am petite and I want to look more of my age.  I love loose fitting clothes, dresses, and of course black! Most of my closet is black, however I do try to add a touch of animal print or random subtle colors.

This is my first semester here on CollegeFashionista and I am beyond excited for this opportunity to be a Style Guru. I feel that this internship will help me develop an eye for fashion and see how runway looks and trends trickle down to everyday wear. This opportunity will definitely help me improve my writing skills.

I hope all you lovely people enjoy my articles and join me on this journey of improving myself. Don’t forget to RAD my post!
