Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Annika Meulink and I am so excited to be a part of East Carolina University’s Style Guru team! I am currently going into my second semester as a Fashion Merchandising major with a minor in Business. Go Pirates!

I am so glad I got this opportunity to work with people that appreciate fashion as much as I do and can not wait to begin searching for Fashionistas/os around campus! East Carolina contains a plethora of fashionable students, which I get to experience on a day to day basis. Greek life, football season and student organizations are only a few contributors to the wide range of fashion sense on campus.

The reason why I am so enthusiastic about fashion, and decided to major in Fashion Merchandising, is because of how influential it has been in my life. From a very early age, fashion magazines and television shows have always intrigued me. It was a glimpse into a fabulous industry of clothing, accessories and everything in between. I was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina where I spent most of my time either at the NC Art Museum or downtown. Downtown Raleigh is filled with creative and trendy individuals! It is not hard to find inspiration for any occasion simply by taking a stroll down the main strip.

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend high school in downtown Raleigh. I began taking apparel and merchandising classes, which taught me how to sew and market clothing. My classmates and I even had the opportunity to go to New York City and explore the garment district! I was star struck by all of the gorgeous fabrics in Mood and the up and coming designers above in studio apartments. Since then I have had the opportunity to return to New York City twice and explore other fashion capitals of the US as well. I love discovering new and creative designs and trends that eventually hit us, the Fashionistas/os!

My love for fashion only continues to grow. Along with my passion for clothing I also very much enjoy yoga, art and anything to do with the outdoors! If I had to box my personal fashion sense, I would describe it as a mix between hippie free spirit and coffee shop wanna-be. However, I love a wide range of styles and can be seen wearing something a little different everyday.

I can not wait to explore the fashions of East Carolina’s campus this semester. My goal is to find the most unique Fashionistas/os of my college to show that clothing is one of the greatest compliments to the individual. I hope to bring you trends and styles that catch your eye and inspire you to create your own fashionable looks!
