STYLE GURU BIO: Andria Lecidor

Hey fashion lovers, I’m Andria Lecidor and here are a couple of details about me:

I am currently studying fashion business management at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Living in New York was a very big transition in my life. I have lived all my life in the sunny Miami, Florida and when I got my acceptance letter from FIT, I knew I couldn’t let this opportunity slip away so I made the decision to move. Trading in my Old Navy shorts for The North Face puffy winter jackets was a really big jump for me. It’s been a year now that I have been living in New York and I would not say I’m a full blown New Yorker, but I am a little more adjusted to the fast pace New York way of life. One thing I will never get adjusted to is the brutal Northeastern winter weather.

I been interested in fashion ever since I was five years old. I used to cut up some of my old socks and sew them together to make new dresses for my dolls. When I was in middle school, I used to spend most of my time sketching out clothing designs. I eventually put all these sketches together in a notebook and created a catalog.

My secret to finding good fashion pieces is thrifting. I absolutely love thrift store shopping. Most of my interesting pieces that stop people in the street and make them compliment me always come from a thrift store. The best part of thrift store shopping is that whatever I get from the thrift store I know that no one else will be wearing it, which will keep me from blending in with everyone else.

One word that most definitely describes me is eclectic. I love just running out my front door and tackling the world one step at a time. I love expressing myself through poetry, art and fashion. I love bright colors, crazy patterns, edgy pieces and anything that will make me stand out from the crowd. I’m very experimental with every aspect of life and I feel as though it doesn’t hurt anyone to try something at least once.
