STYLE GURU BIO: Ana Mazumdar

Hey everyone, my name is Ana! I’m a senior (I hate thinking about that) at Rutgers University in New Jersey. I’m a communication major with a minor in business administration. In all my 21 years of life my style has evolved largely, from nonexistent to existent. Growing up, I wasn’t really into dressing up. In fact, I was your typical tomboy. You could find me in jeans and a hoodie and I’d be pretty content. It’s funny because that’s my go-to comfort look now.

After coming into college and being exposed to different styles and beauty techniques, my interest in fashion took a different turn. I wanted to stray from what I knew and dabble into something completely out of my norm. My style can be broken down into two categories: things I actually wear and things I want to muster up the courage to wear. This semester I hope to branch out from my usual neutral colors and styles into something a little bolder and daring.

If I had to sum up my go-to look it would consist of a nice pair of jeans (either dark-washed or ripped), a casual top that is simple yet chic paired with a watch. My current obsessions are watches as I feel they complete any outfit. There are so many pairs of shoes that can go with this outfit, but my favorite for this time of the year has to be boots. My style revolves around sticking to the classics and basics with a sprinkle of something new.

On a more personal note, I love shopping and spending copious amounts of time online shopping and the mall. When my bank account requires me to refrain from that activity, I love going on spontaneous adventures that involve trying new food. I love going into the city or even finding local places to shop and eat. I look forward to spending this semester writing about all things fashion!
