Hey there, Fashionistas/os! I am Amelia Fini, and I am about to embark on my spring semester of my freshman year at the University of Iowa. I am pursuing a major in Marketing and I have a huge passion for fashion.

In between twirling in the dance studio, sweating it out at hot yoga, studying, laughing with friends and drinking a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop, you can find me searching the web for fashion inspiration. There aren’t many things better than being able to lie in bed at night and shop the latest trends. Most of the clothing pieces that consume my closet come from online shops or local boutiques. I love snagging the best deals, especially while I’m on a college budget.

Many things inspire my personal style, whether it is scrolling through Pinterest, reading the latest fashion magazines, checking CollegeFashionista or creeping through the Instagram accounts of local boutiques. My favorite thing about fashion and clothing is that you can express yourself through it. There are no guidelines. If you want to be bold, trendy, chic or comfy, nobody is stopping you. I would consider my personal style trendy, while also loving the comfy, cute look.

Even though there is a constant struggle between looking nice and not having the time to do it, I have some favorites that make this a little easier. My favorite go-tos to look fashionable in a timely matter include my leopard slip-on shoes, boyfriend jeans, blanket scarf and matte lipstick. I can also always count on an over-sized, comfy sweater to do the job. If you asked my friends and family what my favorite fashion item is, they would probably tell you that I am a lipstick fanatic. I rarely leave the house without a lip color or gloss; I think when you have the right shade, lipstick is a perfect addition to complete an outfit. It’s also my favorite trick to transform an outfit from daytime to nighttime.

I am very excited to capture the latest Fashionistas/os on the University of Iowa campus. I cannot wait to being this journey as a Style Guru, as it will allow me to express my love for writing and passion for fashion in a perfect way.
