STYLE GURU BIO: Alyssa DiDomenico

Goodbye to the cold, dreary winter and hello to the sunny summer! I am elated to be returning as a Style Guru intern for CollegeFashionista this summer. I had a great semester as an intern in the spring and I can’t wait to see what is to come in my fashion future. I am going into my junior year at Kent State University, but I will be home for the summer. I am going to travel around different cities and campuses in Michigan throughout the next three months to find some of the best style inspiration.

CollegeFashionista has made me fall even more in love with fashion than I already was. I am always on the look out for great photo opportunities, which has really stepped up my Instagram game. I am now two years into my fashion merchandising studies, which has allowed me to learn more about the industry I strive to work in one day. I am typically a modest dresser, but I am starting to go more out of my comfort zone in my attempt to dress more like a twenty year old. I love stores like Madewell, Urban Outfitters and Nordstrom. I am the most comfortable in neutrals and shades of blue. Classic and feminine styles are typically my go-to, but occasionally I dabble with some boho looks; which are a reflection of the outfit I chose to wear for this post!

I originally bought this outfit with Lollapalooza in mind. However, if you have ever been to a musical festival you will know that this isn’t really practical. Regardless, I love the outfit and I plan to wear each piece as often as possible. First we have this black lace V-neck crop top. Crop tops can be risky, but paired with the right high-waisted skirt and it can look classy and put-together. My favorite detail is the bow on the back, it adds something interesting and makes the outfit appealing from all angles. The beige denim skirt may end up being my favorite piece of the summer. It is comfortable, light and fun! I am obsessed with the laced-up front and the pockets are not only a cool detail, but extremely practical (perfect size form my iPhone).

I have no necklace on with this outfit, which is rare for me, but I wanted to show-off my new Shinola watch. The wrap leather strap is cute and dainty, which suits my style. These studded leather espadrilles are a unique focus point to add to any outfit. Last, but not least I included my new quirky clutch. The fringe tassel speaks for itself, but the quote on the front says it all. It’s always fun to have an accessory that does all the talking for you.
