STYLE GURU BIO: Alyssa Clark

Hi there, Fashionistas/os! I’m Alyssa Clark and I’ll be a senior this upcoming fall at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. I’m currently studying Professional Writing and Public Relations. As it’s my first time as a Style Guru, and the first time Kutztown University has been featured on the site, I’m so excited to bring a little bit of Kutztown to CollegeFashionista!

I’m constantly inspired by the eclectic style of all the people in this small town. There’s always something or someone to be seen. There’s a lot of Philadelphia street style influence (think: casual, versatile, on-the-go) and a lot of International students who bring their unique style to Kutztown.

In my spare time, when I’m not working retail at Victoria’s Secret, I’m doing yoga, reading or writing for Fine Living Lancaster. My personal summer style is typically composed of a strappy little black dress, ankle booties with some type of heel and an assortment of rings. Since this summer is bound to be a hot one, I’ll be keeping it simple.

I’ve always been into personal style, but I’ve never really put a word to describing mine. I like casual, I like dressy and I love mixing the two. I base my outfits on neutral colors, accessorize with mostly gold jewelry and try to put a pop or two of color into the outfit. For me, an outfit is never complete without the makeup; a simple outfit can be transformed with cat-eyes and bright lips. I love jeans just as much as I love dresses. I feel like I’m always asking myself, “Should I wear a kimono with that or a blazer?”

I can’t wait to bring the hot, hot summer style of Kutztown to the pages of CollegeFashionista! I’ll be posting every Thursday, so be sure to be on the lookout.
