Hello there! My name is Alma Gomez and I am now a senior at The University of Tampa majoring in Communications. I am super pumped to be writing for CollegeFashionista for the first time! I love gaining experience in fields that I am interested in, and that is why I am here. Fashion has always been a passion of mine, and I want to see what I can do with it. I am also interested in starting my own successful blog, so being here will teach me more than what I am learning in the classroom.
I was born in Puerto Rico and grew up all over the United States because my father was in the military. In the past I thought moving around was the worst, but I view it differently now. Moving around has made me meet many unique friends and experience new things. I learned that each place has its own culture and style.
I want to say that my love for fashion began in middle school once I was able to dress myself the way I wanted to. I would get my inspiration from magazines, celebrities and characters from television. A big one was Alex Russo played by Selena Gomez from The Wizards of Waverly Place.
As I grew older I began to experiment with my clothing and try new ideas out. I take advantage of this now that I have a little more freedom in college. I dress according to how I feel or how I want to feel. If I feel edgy I’ll wear my leather skirt with a crop top and combat boots. If I feel boho, as I did today, then I’ll wear a slow fade dress with my chunky gladiator heels.
I can already tell it is going to be a fun summer sharing my looks and the looks of other Fashionistas or Fashionistos!
