STYLE GURU BIO: Allison Smith

Hello everyone! My name is Allison Smith and I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista family. I’ve always had a love for fashion and I come from a very creative family. Lacking the ability to draw in a straight line and paint within boundaries, I turned to styling outfits for myself and my friends.

I am currently at the University of New Haven and I will be a junior in the fall. It is amazing just how quickly time flies when you have changed your major nine times. I began my college career just two years ago as a public relations major. Since then I have dabbled in engineering, nutrition, history and more. I am now, and will finish college, as a global studies major with an emphasis in global business. I hope to one-day dive into the world of law and real estate.

My personal style is somewhere between boho and sporty. I draw a lot of my style inspiration from the Jenners, Vanessa Hudgens and Rihanna. I’m an avid neutral clothing hoarder and I can be found wearing black during any and all seasons. This summer, I am obsessed with t-shirt dresses, hats and rompers. I can honestly say that these pieces are taking over my closet.  I would say that my style confidence took off as soon as I shaved my head the day after Christmas in 2013. Since then, I have gone from a mix of wild colors and a mismatched closet, to a much more subdued and versatile wardrobe.

I can not wait to see what this internship will bring and I am looking forward to a RAD summer!
