STYLE GURU BIO: Allison Sherman

Hello my fellow Fashionista/os! My name is Allison Sherman and I am entering my senior year at Arizona State University. I’m double majoring in Industrial Design and Design Management and have a minor in Sustainability. I hope to combine all of these to pursue a career in sustainable fashion and design. I am a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority and am the recruitment chair for this next fall (meaning I get design the décor of the room each day, yay!) I am also the communications director for the Business of Fashion club on campus, which is really a blast to be apart of. It’s so wonderful to be surrounded by people that share the same love for fashion that I do. I have a wide variety of interests, some of which include shopping (of course), design, art, photography, sustainability, scuba diving, traveling, exploring and most of all, fashion.

Early on in life, I knew I wanted to get involved in the fashion industry. When I was just a toddler, I always matched my purse, shoes and outfit and had Barbie fashion shows. So on that note, 20 something years later my love for fashion has only increased.

I would say my style is ever changing, and because of this my closet has been described to be “eclectic.” I like to try new things everyday in regards to my wardrobe, and sometimes I find myself picking out outfits for hours. For most people that sounds horrible, yet for me it is my time to have fun and be creative. Depending on my mood, my outfit can be anything from glam to boho to NASTY GAL-edgy.

In this look, I was feeling a bit boho and paired a white lace dress, white floral skirt and lace halter bra all from Free People to make my outfit. I love wearing hats, especially this one from Brixton. Gladiator shoes are my new obsession as well and MIA does it just right with these beauties. Shop my look: a white lace dress here and some killer gladiators here.
