STYLE GURU BIO: Allie Sarachene

Happy New Year, Style Gurus! My name is Allie Sarachene, and this is my fourth semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. As winter is still upon us, you can find me decked out in layers and cozy sweaters. Over this winter break, I’ve been spending time with family and friends, drinking way too much coffee but always finding that perfect photo op.

Interning for CollegeFashionista has connected me with Style Gurus all over the world, and it’s amazing to share the same interests and love of photography and fashion with somebody across the country. Scrolling through Instagram to get inspiration for my photos is one of my favorite things to do, and it refreshing to see people my age passionate about it as well.

Growing up in Ohio, every season varies. Just because it’s winter outside doesn’t necessarily mean snow, as on Christmas Day I woke up to what felt like a rainy fall day. With that being said, my choice of clothing and style varies daily in the winter, sometimes needing a parka, while other days leaving the house in an oversized sweater and leggings.

Currently a sophomore at Kent State University, my time as a college student is flying by faster than I expected. Because Kent is a very known fashion school, the creativity that flows on campus is something to write about.

Now to the important part—my outfit! My number one objective while picking out an outfit is to be comfortable in what I wear. Lately I’ve really been into turtlenecks: a simple piece that gives off this classic look. Suede is a favorite material of mine, so when a saw this suede vest, I impulsively bought it. This vest is a staple piece that I’ve found to go with many of my looks. Finally, I chose distressed high waisted jeans to finish off the look, pairing it with my favorite black booties for that edgy vibe.

I can’t wait to find new trends and styles this spring semester, so make sure you keep up with me on all my adventures!
