STYLE GURU BIO: Allie DiBenedetto

Hello everyone! My name is Allie DiBenedetto, and this is my fourth semester writing for CollegeFashionista! I am currently a junior at the University of Rhode Island working towards my goal to someday have a career in the fashion industry. I am super excited to be apart of the CollegeFashionista team once again, and to share the styles of Fashionista/os on my campus this semester!

My current obsession is sweaters. Sweater dresses, big comfy sweaters worn over leggings and basically any kind of sweater you can name! Oversized sweaters have been in style for a while now every time it starts to get a little chilly out, but sweater dresses especially are in right now. From long, slim-fitted, baggy, off-the-shoulder, to cowl-neck sweater dresses can be found almost everywhere these days. You can see in my picture, I am wearing an oversized cowl-neck sweater dress from H&M. I paired this over tights and threw on my favorite pair of ALDO leather over-the-knee boots. This outfit would also look adorable without the tights, depending on the weather. My go-to ensemble is classic, neutral pieces with a pop of color when you least expect it.

I have found that my wardrobe has always consisted of neutrals and only neutrals, with the occasional bright top or two. I always gravitate myself towards taupe, whites, blacks and browns, because I can pair these colors with almost anything. Of course I do not want to ever have a boring outfit, so the fun pop of color comes in the form of an accessory. Within this outfit I am wearing in my picture, I added a purple bag to a neutral outfit. This bag is one of my favorites for the right occasion. You can find a variety of super fun, bright bags from Urban Outfitters, which is wear I got this bag. I was in New York City at the time, so what better of a place to wear something a bit daring. NYC is the one place where you can wear pretty much anything your heart desires, which is why is it my favorite place in the entire world. There are so many different people and so many different styles in the city, that no one will give you a second look if you decide to break out of your comfort zone!

This upcoming semester is the last until my senior year! It is crazy to think I am so close to beginning my life in the real world. This fall, I became a Brand Ambassador for a jewelry company called eff.Y.bee, which is only leading me one step closer to pursuing my dreams in the fashion industry. I hope to spend my summer in my favorite place in the world, New York City, interning with a fashion company. Stay tuned with me this semester as I share my style, as well as the many styles of Fashionista/os here at the University of Rhode Island.
