Hello Fashionistas!
My name is Allie and I am a rising sophomore at Marist College. As a fashion merchandising student, I am so lucky and extremely excited to have the opportunity to bring my fashion-related dreams and aspirations to life. From photographing my own clothes to sketching them in a notebook, I knew from a young age that I had a place in the fashion industry. My dream job would be working in Manhattan as either a fashion buyer or magazine writer. Although I am from Long Island, I am in Manhattan more than I am there. With this being said, I am without a doubt a city girl! The city will always hold a special place in my heart as it inspires me to be more unique and daring in my style.
Since I felt the need to conform to everyone else’s style and trends in high school, I took college as an opportunity to reinvent and challenge myself to take trendy risks. Over the past year, my style has rapidly changed to being more mature and daring. Within my circle of friends and family, I am known for wearing black. In favor of a classy and ever-popular look, wearing neutrals is always something that I have been a huge advocate for, so watch out for my references to such colors in my articles!
Although I cherish my love for New York and its fashion, I also enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures, especially European ones. Paris is another city that will always hold a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to take the opportunity to study abroad at my school’s Florence campus next year and do even more exploring. A less glamorous, but other favorite travel destination of mine is Disney World. Having been there more times than I can count, it is definitely safe to say that I am Disney obsessed! Another dream job of mine would be working as a merchandiser for this company.
In addition to fashion and traveling, writing is something that I always took seriously and rapidly learned to love. Although fulfilling this passion is one thing I hope to accomplish as a Style Guru, I also hope to inspire my fellow Style Gurus and Fashionistas to step out of their comfort zone and style themselves in new and bold ways!
