Surprise, surprise! I’m back again! However, this summer I’m headed into my senior year. I remember the summer into my freshman year at GWU. I was searching the internet high and low for a way to pursue my interest in fashion and get started my freshman year. CollegeFashionista was, always has been and always will be, the answer. Since August 2012, I have been writing and editing for CollegeFashionista and I attribute most of my success to Amy, Melissa and Sammy and this incredible site.
For those who are new here, I’m Ali—an avid beach goer, red wine drinker, recent world traveler and Journalism major at George Washington University. I will be spending my summer in the gorgeous Los Angeles, California as an Editorial Intern for C California Style Magazine. Upon my return from Milan, I’ve noticed my closet has been totally revamped. I mean, how could it not be? I was in the fashion capitol of the world for four months! With an influx of turbans, exotically printed skirts and insane shoes, I certainly have some new favorites. From my time in Milan, my style has truly evolved. While I love what is on-trend and being “with the times,” I also love stepping outside of that box with a unique accessory or crazy outfit pairing. I urge you to do the same and take inspiration from everything that is around you, especially the Fashionistas I bring you from LALA Land!
My latest obsession is a bit different from my usual: makeup! I had to leave most of my makeup in Milan because my suitcases were too stuffed, so I recently splurged in Ulta on a variety of cool cosmetics. I can’t wait to share some of my recently attained makeup secrets with you in the newest column, BEAUTY BAR!
