STYLE GURU BIO: Alexandra Klockenga

Hello all! My name is Alexandra (Lexee for short) and I am a junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I was born and raised in the small town of Lincoln, Illinois. I am currently double majoring in management and marketing but wish that my path in life will lead me on a extremely fashion-filled road.

If I had to describe my personal style, or the type of look that I wish to channel, it would be chic, while adding a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll edge. A few of my style icons are the Olsen Twins along with the Bartoli sisters. Both of these pairs are who I really pull most of my style inspiration from, with them making even the fashion ‘don’ts,’ doable.

In this shoot, I feel I was able to capture the aforementioned style with the monochromatic outfit with only a pop of color from the jean jacket. To start, I am wearing a black, off the shoulder mid-length choker top from American Apparel. The choker is definitely one ’90s trend that I am thrilled to have make a come back. With this top, I decided to pair it with black distressed jeans and a pair of black Steve Madden Carrson ankle-strap sandals. These are my favorite pair of heels; they seem a bit understated, yet are exceptional and absolutely comfortable. To finish off the look, I added a pair of blue lens aviators and a jean jacket from the “I Am Denim” Collection at Zara. This jacket, or jean jackets in general, are a classic and timeless wardrobe staple and a must have for every fashionista.

Now that summer is beginning, I am excited and so grateful to have this opportunity to expand and share my love for fashion.I hope you enjoy reading my articles!
