STYLE GURU BIO: Alexa Healy

Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Alexa, but to friends and family, I’m Lulu. I’m currently a 20-fun-year-old junior and Broadcast Journalism major at the Pennsylvania State University in State College. I couldn’t be more excited for my first semester of writing for CollegeFashionista. My dream is to live in New York and to write for a fashion publication (fingers crossed).

In addition to being a student, I’m also currently a proud Navy girlfriend. Hooyah!

I grew up in Philadelphia, so I was always exposed to different styles, which helped me to shape my own (having an older sister’s closet to raid never hurts, either). My personal style usually ranges somewhere from chic, to cute-casual, to “I’ve been wearing these pajamas for two days.”  I love fashion, but hair and makeup will always be my first true love.

I never miss an opportunity to get dressed up. I’m a firm believer in “look good, feel good.” Putting on a cute outfit always adds a little pep to your step (you know you look good).

I love taking little adventures, especially if there’s a beach involved. My favorite things are Netflix, pizza, animals and hair extensions. Sarcasm is my first language. I’m a proud dog-mom to two King Charles Cavalier Spaniels, Duke and Dolce.

On to the fun part—the outfit. The best thing about the cold weather are the sweaters. I’m wearing an off the shoulder, cropped, fuzzy black sweater from H&M, purchased for $25. The sweater is paired with destroyed boyfriend jeans from Target for $30 dollars. The Charles David shoes are pointed nude heels with snakeskin detailing, and were a style find at Nordstrom Rack for under $40 (originally retailing for about $120). The glam cat-eye aviator style sunglasses were purchased from T.J. Maxx. The outfit is pulled together by a large ivory statement necklace from Icing, which I found for five dollars. There’s nothing like a good sale for the every day college Fashionista. T.J. Maxx is a fashion dream for a college budget.

And remember, life is short: buy the shoes. Until next time, Fashionistas!
