STYLE GURU BIO: Adrienne Yap

Hey there, fellow Fashionista/os! It is a pleasure to be a part of this snazzy community.

First things first, I’m a Fashion Merchandising major at the Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Hailing from Malaysia, being in San Francisco is a whole new experience and I am grateful to be able to feature some up to the minute students of AAU here on CollegeFashionista. The written word and fashion have always been my passion. Lucky for me, these two elements go hand in hand. Needless to say, reading and writing are how I pass my time, along with attending gigs, music festivals, catching flicks and exploring new places.

On days that I am not swamped with homework, you could spot me reading out on the fire escape with a cup of coffee in hand or gazing at art in any art museum. To document such moments, I have gotten back into the swing of writing in my blog. Some great blogs that inspire me are Fashiononymous, That’s Chic and Parfasseux. Check them out if you ever need bursts of inspiration.

Fashion has always played a role in my life, which led me to dream of becoming a fashion writer. Right after my high school graduation, I decided to pursue this dream of mine by interning at a local online fashion site, Tongue in Chic. Due to the nature of the small team, I was exposed to so many aspects of the fashion industry as well as being able to be more hands on. It has been two years now and my dream has yet to dim as I am currently a fashion writer for Third Culture.

I am glad to be on board and I hope you look forward to my weekly street style posts. Let me assure you that my posts will always be on point because the students of AAU do not disappoint.
