STYLE ADVICE: Random Warm Days

Although we have about a month until it is officially spring, Mother Nature decided to cover us here in New Jersey with plenty of sunshine and almost 70 degree weather, which to most posed a huge question of if global warming is real or not. But we all know the more pressing issue is what should you wear in those warmer temperatures being that it’s still winter! With that said, in this article, I’m going to discuss what to wear when the weather decides to do whatever it wants and how you can take advantage of that without looking like you’re ready for the beach.

Dressing within the season is something that most people probably don’t even think of while getting ready, but being the Fashionista/os that we are, we know it’s a very important step! Unfortunately, the weather is way out of our control, so it’s really about how we adapt to it that makes all the difference. In the fall and winter, I am all for showing a little skin when the weather allows it, but it’s how you contrast the exposed skin that makes it work. Shorts and sweaters have been an all-time favorite of mine, but my parents thought it was too much of an oxymoron for me to attempt, thank goodness I make all my clothing decisions now!

A great way to get that contrast is to pair a cardigan or sweater with the item that shows more skin. Like shown in the photos, this Fashionista took a brightly colored, flowing dress and toned it down with her black fuzzy cardigan. That way her look still fits the season and she is dressed suitably for the weather. Not only is this a great look for when the temperatures randomly rise, but its also an easy outfit to wear to class! Pairing the look with combat boots was the perfect edgy touch that also helps the look stay in the winter season. I’m definitely taking notes from this Fashionista! Catch you here next month for another rad article!
