STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Winter Minimal

Winter is out in full force here in New York City. We are midway through the winter session classes here at LAGCC, and I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for the warm spring weather to come. With the cold weather, most of us tend to keep the fashion simple, and this Fashionista was no different.

Going into mom’s closet has been a style staple for as long as I can remember, and to be honest, moms know best when it comes to some things. In the case of this Fashionista, her long, gray coat belongs to her mom.

This Fashionista is keeping all her tones neutral. Bad hair days call for a cover up, which is known to many as a hat. Wearing leggings as pants is seen as a bad fashion habit to many out there, but this Fashionista pulls it off. Sweaters and scarves are a major key to staying warm during the winter. To add a bit of a spark to her outfit, a necklace underneath the scarf does the trick.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed during the winter or to be confused with what you want to wear because of the cold weather. Remember to keep to keep it simple because at the end of the day, it is you who wears the outfit and not the other way around!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “During the winter, I usually revolve my outfits around my coats or jackets because I get very cold, but keep the overall outfit color very toned down. To add a bit of color to the outfit, I leave the buttons open at the top of my coat so my necklace can stand out against the white sweater”.
