STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Winter Accessories Warning

Father Winter hit Ball State yet again and boy did he hit hard! Waking up the next morning ankle deep in the snow wasn’t anyone’s cup of tea, but all that we can do is bundle up and go about the day. The campus is now covered with students dressed up in knit scarves, soft mittens and hats in every shape and size! When the weather throws a snowball in our face, you’d think it would become a little harder to spot the Fashionistas and Fashionistos around campus but let me tell you, Style Gurus are experts at their practice!

This week’s Fashionista is comfy and cozy when she made her way out into the winter wonderland that is the Ball State campus. Other than a comfortable Columbia puffer coat, she keeps warm by wearing a large gray infinity scarf with a black and white tribal beanie! With a wind chill of negative four degrees, our Fashionista pulled out all of the winter accessory essentials. You can pick up a fun hat from pretty much any clothing store; the one that our Fashionista bought her tribal knit hat at was Express. Scarves are everywhere as well but not all of them are worthy of keeping away the freezing wind burn. The bigger the scarf, the better your face and neck will be protected during the winter months. Although a coat is not exactly an accessory, it is definitely is a winter essential. A lot of coats are not cheap, but when it is nine degrees outside and you are on campus, you will be so thankful that you are not slowly turning into Frosty the Snowman.

If you reside in the warmer states during this time, consider yourself extremely lucky. Yes, I love pom-pom hats just as much as the next person but I would gladly give those up for warm weather year-round!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Always try to make comfort your first priority. There is nothing cute about being uncomfortable.”
