STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Weather Confused

February 8th, 2016 at 12:14pm

Virginia is known for its unpredictable and ever changing weather, and this winter is no exception. Waking up to a 60 degree day  is always a pleasant surprise, but a pain when it comes to deciding what to wear. So, whether it’s sunny, raining, hot or cold, here’s a few ways to make sure your outfit is ready for whatever the day has to offer!

First and foremost, closed-toed ankle booties are a must. Tall boots and UGGs can easily get too hot when transitioning throughout the day or going indoors, making this Fashionista’s simple leather bootie the perfect go-to footwear. As an added bonus: booties can be worn even as colder weather moves in by adding a cute pair of socks to your look.

As for her outfit, a loose white T-shirt is ideal for wearing plain, or layering up for the outdoors like this Fashionista did. She chose to pair it with black corduroys and a flowy, patterned kimono to add texture and color to the outfit without straying from the winter trends. For accessories, she picked out a glitzy grey and silver statement necklace to match her outfit both with, and without the kimono, and three simplistic, stacked silver rings to tie it all together. So this season, remember to incorporate removable layers and closed-toed shoes so you’ll be ready for anything Mother Nature throws your way!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Add lots of layers to your outfit and incorporate fun winter pieces such as corduroys and sweaters, then make your look pop with big, bejeweled accessories!”
