STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Wearing Turtlenecks Is “Hot”

In the wake of the incoming fall, my must-have of the late summer is the turtleneck style. It is kind of surprising to wear turtlenecks under such high temperatures because it must be really “hot.” This trend actually comes from fall 2015 Fashion Week. The turtlenecks are in almost every single runway show this year. They also took over most of the street snaps from Kim K, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and other hottest “It” girls.

The high neck design is either vintage or modern. It is in memory of the ’70s. Every time I see turtlenecks, what come to my mind are high fashion and extraordinary taste. Last year, turtleneck sweaters appeared very frequently in models after fashion shows. Truth to be told, it is really hard to connect the turtleneck sweater to the word “cool” because it always reminds us of sweaters from grandma’s closet. Now the era has been changed. To rock a turtleneck top, you basically don’t need to pay extra attention. There is almost no item that will get wrong with the turtleneck top. This Fashionista gives us a very basic example of a turtleneck outfit. A pair of slim black jeans is always the classic match to the vintage feeling. The special part of the shirt is that it leaves a gap in the back. I always hold the view that the greatest design of an item is not putting all the popular elements together in one piece but making a classical piece special.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “A turtleneck crop top is definitely a great choice to catch and [it’s] on-trend [so you’ll] stay cool at the same time. “
