STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Thigh's the Limit

As we approach the spring and summer months, it seems that tops get shorter and more cropped to cope with the rising temperatures, and with these shorter pieces come their high-waisted counterparts. Now when there are short skirts or shorts, it seems that their most recent counterpart has been deemed the thigh-high boot or sandal.

Thigh-high boots have been seen everywhere this season and it might have something to do with their appearances in the Balmain fall 2016 ready-to-wear show, or that celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez have been seen wearing them for every occasion. From running errands to major Hollywood awards shows they have been sporting thigh-highs and, in the process, have given us major inspiration on how to take this trend from the runway to the streets!

Thigh-high shoes have been having a moment in fashion right now. So, if you want to rock the thigh-high trend without dishing out some serious cash or if you don’t have an event to go to, then you can take a similar route to this Fashionista and look chic without breaking the bank.

Instead of wearing thigh-high boots, this Fashionista has instead opted for a more casual look that fits in with her own personal style. She chose thigh-high socks paired with Topshop boots to create the illusion of thigh high boots without needing to purchase new shoes, but still giving the outfit a little something extra. The pseudo thigh-highs were worn alongside a floral skirt and graphic band shirt that was made into a muscle tee to help combat the heat.
