STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Best Time to Wear a Striped Sweater

Sometimes this summer weather can get a little confusing with the changing forecasts. In one day, it can go from sunny, to cloudy, to raining in minutes. There are always those days where it isn’t hot enough to wear shorts and a tank top, but it isn’t cold enough to wear jeans and a sweater. That is when you start mixing and matching seasons.

I love the look of a pair of shorts and a cropped sweater. I think it is the best way to be a little weather-confused when the weather is confusing. This is probably one of the better weather-confused looks, compared to the short-lived look of shorts with UGGs. I’m sorry, but shorts and UGGs should never be the answer. In this look, this Fashionista has on a striped sweater on with holes in it, which makes it more bearable to wear if the weather were to get hotter. I love the way the seam of the shoulders hangs down on her arm, giving it a slouchier, comfy look. A good pair of high-waisted shorts is a must in a summer wardrobe. Here, her shorts and her sweater are meeting each other halfway to keep her covered. Sometimes you can cover up, even in summer. These shorts are just a pair of plain denim, but they have this small washed out look to them. In some spots, they are faded and that gives them a more interesting feel. She tops off her outfit with a pair of classic white Converse, which is always a good idea when it might rain. You don’t want to be wearing flip flops or sandals in the rain and you don’t want to wear rain boots and shorts, so what do you do? Throw on a pair of sneakers and you’re set. This look is casual and comfy and can be worn lying in the house or around the town.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I love having clothes that I can wear in any season, it makes me feel like I am getting the most use out of my clothes. So, I always look for things I already have to wear all year long!”
