STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Textural Feeling

The sirens of the fashion universe are on watch for the trend of black goth-chic. Black is the most powerful color that all Fashionista/os crave. It goes with everything and it’s the bold to the bone. Designers Yohji Yamamoto, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy displayed their bold use of black. Yohji Yamamoto displays a mysterious side of the goth trend. Alexander Wang’s goth designs consist of cutouts and skin-exposing mesh. Lastly, Givenchy has a Victorian-chic style with velvet and lace. The color black can be displayed in several different ways, and that is why we love it.

This Fashionista is wearing a black velvet, textured dress, a black cross-body bag and black Converse. I could not help but approach this Fashionista because the velvety texture created several tonal variations on the black dress. With the power of light absorption and reflection, this velvet dress has different variations of lighting. This velvety texture brings the simple black dress to a new level.

More trend forecasting has been set for cross-body bags. We just love this purse style because it is so versatile. It doesn’t weigh down your arm or get in the way. It just sits on the shoulder with ease. To complete the all-black outfit, the finisher is the black Converse. Converse are a classic shoe that have always been in style. They are the cool kids of sneakers, I believe.
