STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Sweet Simplicity

Mark Hyman once said, “Don’t get me wrong, I admire elegance and have an appreciation of the finer things in life. But to me, beauty lies in simplicity.”

Sweet Simplicity. Something that at times can seem very contradicting but can completely change an outfit. When getting dressed for class, I’ve found simplicity to be key. You are walking across campus and hauling around a heavy backpack, and at that point, being comfortable can completely change your mood for the day. I found several other Fashionistas/os that believed the same, but this one stood out because she had great reasoning.

I stumbled across this Fashionista and her sweet yet simple style while walking across campus. As always, plain blue jeans are a good start to dressing simply. Jeans are always on trend and are a comfortable option. The way she stuck with solid colors for her staple pieces was a great way to stick with simplicity. What really caught my eye was the color pallet. The light blue V-neck layered with with her white cardigan gives the outfit a sweet pastel twist. To keep the outfit from being too simple, this Fashionista pairs a patterned scarf with her outfit to bring it to life. I thought this beige and white cheetah print worked great to complete the look. By sticking with lighter hues, her outfit is sweet and to the point.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Always dress for comfort and simplicity when you’re going to class. By dressing comfortably, you can focus on your class and not be distracted by over accessorizing, the uncomfortable pants that don’t fit right or the shirt that won’t stop riding up. Even when dressing simply there are endless possibilities.”
