STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Suit Up

Nothing is more attractive than a man in a suit. Crisp and tailored, a man in a suit projects sophistication, class and, of course, style. From Anna Kendrick to Emma Stone, it’s also a common sight to see female celebrities do their own take on suits and look just as sexy as if they were in any other red carpet gown.

The key to anyone looking great in a suit, whether you’re a Fashionista or Fashionisto, is the fit and cut of it. While it’s obviously best to get one tailored especially for you, nowadays stores offer great pieces at affordable prices that you can put together and create your own suit.

It’s always best to invest a little more in a good suit jacket and you’ll get plenty of style mileage from it. Go for the classic black, navy blue or gray suit jacket or go bold with a blazer in a fun color. For the Fashionistas, when it comes to the pants, find what suits your body type best—whether it’s high-waisted and wide leg or cropped and fitted. Lastly, the quintessential suit accessory is of course, a sleek looking tie but for the ladies, feel free to be creative. Add some personality to the outfit by either going with a fun bow tie or replacing that with a statement necklace or a scarf.

While not all guys wear a suit to class, this Fashionisto is a great example of treating campus like your runway. Pulling a Fifty Shades of Grey, he dons a gray Zara suit perfectly fitted and tapered to his tall frame. Knowing that his outfit was a bit on the one-dimensional side, he added a pop of color and print with his plaid scarf and a touch more contrast with a navy blue Burberry coat. Classy yet youthful, take notes guys (and girls!)— this is how you work a suit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “It’s always good to add a splash of color to keep things interesting. Don’t be afraid to be bold!”
