STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Stylin’ In Scarves

The weather’s confused is an accurate description given by your average Northern Arizona University student these past two weeks. With a snowstorm hitting just last week to this week’s high temperatures almost hitting the 60’s, it’s hard to have a good idea of what you should be wearing to complement the current weather situation. Luckily, no matter what you choose, this Fashionista shows that a stand out scarf is the best way to make any outfit a statement outfit. Typically, scarves are worn to keep warm in those chilly winter months; however, now they’re being worn in the fall and spring as well to add that little extra something. This Fashionista demonstrates this by pairing her printed scarf with a leather skirt and light sweater on a warmer day here in Flagstaff.

Scarves are becoming more of a trend, from the chunky sweater scarves you’d normally see in the winter to the cool patterned scarves being sported in the spring. By incorporating a few pattern scarves into your wardrobe, you are able to completely change the look of an outfit and it’s versatility. Some of the best things when it comes to a scarf is that it doesn’t necessarily have to be worn as just a scarf. They have so many different uses, and you can incorporate them in tons of different ways. A head wrap or a shawl are just a few different ideas. Not only are they versatile, but they work with any style as well. Changing it up and pairing one with a pair of boho beach pants and top would be a good look for the upcoming spring and summer months.

What really stood out to me when I first noticed this Fashionista were the unique colors and pattern her scarf had. Patterns are one thing that always make their way back into the hot trends during the spring. By snatching a fresh and fun patterned scarf this season, you can stand out and stay in style.
