A-line skirts are everywhere these days. Some are denim, some are suede and most seem to have buttons. I am loving this trend. Why? It’s for everyone. No matter your shape, you can slip on one of these stylish skirts and look great. I recently purchased my second one and I already want more. With simple accessories and the right pairing of a top, you can pull off a bohemian look, something sporty and cute or maybe a classic and cool look.
When I spotted this Fashionista strutting by in her burgundy H&M number, I had to stop her. She chose to brighten up her choice of a knitted gray top and the wine colored skirt with aqua and turquoise accessories. Alex and Ani bangles jangled on her wrist along with one of Cotton On’s charity bracelets, which the Fashionista dutifully pointed out. Her aqua kate spade cross-body purse was also a brilliant standout and contrasted nicely against her skirt. Chelsea boots and wild hair bring the look together, and of course a playful lip in Colourpop’s new Ultra Satin lips collection in the shade “Frick N’ Frack.”
The Fashionista told me she was at first hesitant when it came to buying the skirt. She knew it was very “in” right now, but didn’t think it would work for her. Her friends persuaded her to try it on and she was pleasantly surprised.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I didn’t think this skirt would work for my frame but I was wrong. In fact, any trend can work for anyone. The first step to pulling off an outfit is to put it on.”
