STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Sentenced to Skort

No matter what time of the year it is, I am always a huge fan of skirts and dresses. In the fall and winter, combine them with tights, boots and oversized sweaters and they create that cute, cozy look. During the spring and summer times, they are light, easy and playful. For every season they have a purpose, and for every person they have a style that fits them just right! While I have now noted multiple reasons why skirts and dresses are a wardrobe staple for all times of the year, my personal favorite time to wear them is during the summertime. The lightweight summer fabrics used for these two clothing articles don’t hang heavy on the body and the flow of the apparel prevents the material from any bothersome sticking and rubbing.

However, I do have to admit, dresses and skirts can be a little annoying at times. Whether it be a breezy day or a climb up stadium bleachers, they have the tendency to create some quite unfortunate situations. Personally, flashing innocent bystanders is a moment I’d like to leave for Marilyn.

Nonetheless, this Fashionista wore the perfect solution to this fashion conundrum—the skort! The skort allows for that fun, light look of a skirt but prevents the wardrobe mishaps. She pairs her black skort with a white blouse, simple jewelry and a charming Tory Burch cross-body bag. Simplistic in its nature, this outfit is classy and versatile.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You can never go wrong with a skort for a day or night outfit. It works for both, and it’s fun to play around with!”
